Welcome to Charm & Petal, a little perfume shop with roots as old as Serenity Falls itself.
The Attar family was crafting fragrances long before the town’s founding in 1637, distilling memory and magic into every bottle. When Serenity Falls took shape, Charm & Petal opened its doors and never looked back.
Today, Anna Attar carries on the legacy, stocking the shelves with scents laced with memory, steeped in mystery, and infused with heart.
If you’ve read Fragrance of Forgotten Truths, you’ve already stepped inside. Charm & Petal is the same shop from the Serenity Falls Cozy Mystery series by Iris Applewood.

Meet the Perfumer
Hi, I’m Iris Applewood (aka Angie Andriot). I write cozy mysteries filled with sleuthing sisters, magical perfumes, and small-town secrets. I also happen to blend the very same perfumes that show up in the stories.
Before I ever wrote a single chapter of Fragrance of Forgotten Truths, I was already deep in the world of scent. I started Vetiver Aromatics back in 2011, offering tools and ingredients for people who wanted to create their own fragrances. Fourteen years, a few thousand perfume bottles, and one big leap later, I opened a little perfumery in downtown New Albany, Indiana.
That shop has become something special. People visit, sit at the perfume bar, and blend their own stories into scent. Many leave with their own signature fragrance. Some leave with a little more clarity than they walked in with.
I started to wonder—what if this place had a story of its own?
That’s when Anna Attar showed up. She took over her Gran’s old perfume shop and started uncovering family secrets, magical recipes, and a few things that weren’t quite ready to stay buried. The shop in the book, Charm & Petal, grew from the spirit of my real-life perfumery. The perfumes in Anna’s world—Evoko, Solamen, and Mentis—are real, too. You can find them right here.
I believe scent can help us remember what matters. It can hold a moment still. It can even, sometimes, nudge us toward a little magic we didn’t know we needed.
